I heard what makes people different from apes is that we can concentrate and bring together two or more things at the same time. E.g. you're in the cage, there is a stick in a corner of the cage, on the other side outside of the cage there is a banana, you can reach banana if you use the stick. But monkey would focus either on the stick or banana in this case; while if we put banana on the same side as the stick: monkey grab a stick and move banana... And i agree, we concentrate on one thing only, so people are just monkeys.
